Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California (USC). He then moved to Tampa, Florida, to attend the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Robert A. Good Honor Society in recognition of his scholarly excellence.
After earning his medical degree, Dr. Nguyen returned to California to complete a rigorous General Surgery residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, a Level I Trauma and Burn Center in San Bernardino County. During his training, he also spent extensive time at Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center and served as Administrative Chief Resident in his final year, graduating in 2024.
Following residency, Dr. Nguyen pursued advanced fellowship training at the prestigious Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona (2024–2025), specializing in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, common bile duct exploration, and acute care surgery. During his fellowship at Mayo Clinic, he honed his skills under the mentorship of many nationally acclaimed academic surgeons in general surgery.
In 2025, Dr. Nguyen joined Desert West Surgery, where he is proud to serve the Las Vegas community. His clinical interests include minimally invasive and robotic surgery, gastrointestinal disorders, abdominal wall hernias, gallbladder disease, and venous disease of the lower extremities.
